Also the stop is performed by the master, not the slave. so you should see STOP as you would expect. It's jsut that the slave may not see it correctly.It is impossible. The test code(A) does nothing - just interrupt handler. MCU-C does all by hardware. and does it right.

Now, when we consider a new AVR we look over the datasheet and other documents on the Atmel Web site--chip errata and such--and sometimes in the app notes and/or Google searches we might find something at least indirectly related. In this case it took me at least 3 mouse clicks to find http://www.atmel.com/dyn/resourc...You do, it is implied by when you access the TWSR register. Though you cannot extend the cycle during STOP.
